Introduction

Devon LMC invites you to take part in the Future Leaders in General Practice programme – an inspiring series of in-person modules designed to help you lead with clarity, resilience, and purpose. From boosting workplace wellbeing to navigating challenging conversations, each session offers practical tools and fresh insights to empower you and your team. Whether you join one module or the full programme, this is your opportunity to unlock your leadership potential in a supportive and energising setting.

Module 4 – Leading Challenging Conversations in Teams

Handling feedback, tensions and performance conversations with colleagues

Getting the best from yourself and your team by leading through strengths

 

Programme Structure

The programme is delivered through interactive workshops, discussion, reflection and practical application, allowing participants to apply learning directly within their own practices. Emerging or existing leaders within practices can attend individual workshops from the programme. Participants may choose to attend one or multiple sessions, depending on their development needs and availability.

 

Workshop Dates

The Future Leaders sessions will run on the following dates from 09:00-13:00 at Buckfast Abbey Conference Centre:

30 April 2026 – Leading with Wellbeing
18 June 2026 – Leading with Energy and Emotional Awareness
17 September 2026 – Creating Positive Team Cultures
25 November 2026 – Leading Challenging Conversations in Teams
15 December 2026 – Leading Through Strengths

 

Facilitator

The programme is delivered by Steph Tedstone, Managing Partner at Compass House Medical Centres in Devon. Steph leads a multi-site GP practice and combines extensive real-world leadership experience with academic expertise in leadership and workplace wellbeing. She holds a Master’s degree in Applied Positive Psychology (Organisations and Leadership) and is also an accredited leadership coach, bringing coaching approaches into the programme to support reflection, development and practical application within the realities of general practice.

The Expressions of Interest Forms will close a week prior to each module date. Please note that completing the forms does not guarantee a place on the programme. Selected participants will be notified once the review process has been completed.

 

Programme Contribution Fee

To support the continued delivery and sustainability of this programme, a participant contribution will be introduced for 2026. The LMC covers the majority of the programme delivery costs; however, individuals are asked to contribute £60 per module towards the overall fee. Details of how to make payment will follow upon confirmation of your place.

 

Attendance and Cancellation Policy

Please note that if a place is confirmed and the attendee does not attend, or if a cancellation is made with less than 7 days’ notice, a £100 non-attendance charge will apply.
