Overview
The way your LMC Committee works is changing.
From July 2026, Devon LMC will move from having three Sub-committees to a single committee of 12 elected representatives. This change is part of a wider programme of transformation, designed to strengthen representation, improve connection with practices, and create clearer lines of communication between members and the LMC.
The Committee Journal supports that change.
It offers a regular accessible way to share insight from Committee discussions, alongside updates on current operational and clinical topics, helping members stay connected to both the issues being explored and the people representing them.
The Committee Journal will come online following our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 8th July 2026, when the new Committee is formally established.

What you’ll find in The Committee Journal
The Committee Journal provides:
- Transparency on priorities, themes, and issues raised through the Committee
- Updates on current operational and clinical topics affecting General Practice
- Context around why certain issues are being prioritised
- Insight into how the Committee is approaching its representative role
- The Journal focuses on shared understanding, helping keep the connection between practices and representatives clear and active.
Strengthening our connection with practices
A key part of the new Committee model is strengthening the link between practices, their elected representatives, and the LMC.
Each practice has been asked to nominate two Points of Contact to provide a clear and direct line of communication with their Committee representative. While the choice of individuals is entirely up to each practice, we recommend nominating a Practice Manager and a GP Partner or Lead., ensuring both operational and clinical perspectives are represented.
If your practice has not yet submitted its Point of Contacts, please do so using the link available via our Members Area below:
The Committee Journal – Devon Local Medical Committee
This will help ensure timely, two-way communication once the Committee is formally established, supporting a strong and consistent connection between practices, their elected representative, and the LMC.
Staying connected
The Committee Journal is one of the ways we are strengthening connection between practices, representatives and the wider LMC; supporting a clearer, more joined-up conversation as General Practice in Devon continues to evolve.
