Introduction
Devon LMC offers two fully funded, confidential coaching services, tailored specifically for General Practitioners and Practice Managers working in Devon.
Coaching provides protected space to pause, reflect and think clearly – whether you are navigating challenge, change, or simply want time to focus on your own development.
Below, you’ll find more information about what coaching is, how it can support you, and how to access coaching through the LMC.
What is coaching?
The word coach originates from the Hungarian word for carriage, a way of travelling from one place to another. In that sense, coaching is about supporting movement: from where you are now, to where you want to be.
Coaching helps unlock potential by increasing self-awareness, strengthening skills and building confidence. It focuses on supporting individuals to identify their own goals and develop practical ways of achieving them.
How coaching can support you
Coaching is build around purposeful conversations and skilled questioning. These structured, two-way discussions create space to explore challenges, test thinking and develop clarity – both personally and professionally.
Coaching is:
- Client-led and flexible
- Focussed on development and flourishing
- Grounded in your own goals and priorities
It is important to note that coaching is not therapy. It is a practical, forward-focussed form of support designed to help you move confidentially through complexity and change.
