Admin/Finance Clerk

Wycliffe surgery a teaching, growing practice in Plymouth are seeking an Admin/Finance clerk to work together with the Finance Manager. It will be a permanent part-time position of 20 hours per week.

 

Bookkeeping qualification is essential and knowledge of Xero accounts software is an advantage but training will be given. The successful candidate will be good on computers and know Microsoft Word and Excel. Basic secretarial skills and good organisational abilities will be required to fulfil the position.

 

The main tasks will be as follow supported by the Finance Manager and all training will be given where necessary:

 

  • Xero accounting, posting of invoices, income, reconciliation,

  • Banking on line for payment of invoices,

  • Invoicing for various medical reports on behalf of patients (DVLA, Life insurance as examples),

  • Copy of medical reports – GDPR

  • Services submissions on CQRS and Commissioning Intelligence, Plymouth City Council, follow up of the payments,

  • Drug monthly claims,

  • Submit the payroll to the portal.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has the commitment and passion to drive efficiencies and quality of care for our patients and the wellbeing of our staff. A working knowledge of business, NHS Finance, and Human Resources is desirable; experience of working within General Practice is essential. The role will involve assisting the Practice Manager with day-to-day operational duties, managing, and supporting our fantastic admin team, in addition to project managing new pathways, contract changes and service delivery.

The successful candidate will be comfortable with transformational processes and will possess the agility and proactiveness to support the Practice Manager in leading Croft Hall through the changes outlined in the GP Contract and NHS Long Term Plan. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.

We are recruiting for 2 full-time positions for the role of Workflow Optimisation Administrator.

 

A Workflow Optimisation Administrator processes incoming medical correspondence, medical records and information into our clinical system.

The successful candidates will look for actions, inform doctors, nurses and pharmacists about work that requires their input, and ensure that information from other practices is transferred and stored accurately so that the clinical and admin teams can access and use it for patients' on-going care.
