We are seeking an accomplished and highly motivated practice manager, with strategic vision, to join this established and highly respected training practice. The successful candidate will work closely with the partners and staff to deliver excellent care for patients.

Wycliffe Surgery is an inner city practice serving a population of circa 10000 patients. Plymouth, also called the Ocean city, offers excellent schools and beautiful outdoors. We are a PMS practice, CQC good and high QOF achievers.

Candidates must provide solid leadership and have sound knowledge of finance, strategic business management and be able to represent the practice within our thriving primary care network. 

You will need to have excellent people-management and communication skills in order to enable the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

Previous general practice and/or other NHS experience is desirable but not essential. We are looking for the right person to join our team and thus will consider exceptional candidates if they can demonstrate transferable skills.

Salary scale dependent on skills and experience.

South Locality Health Inequalities Fellows

Exciting fellowship opportunity for Torbay and South Devon GPs with an interest in Health Inequalities.
2 Fellowship Posts available, each for 1 session per week.
Fixed term contract 12 months

Pay to be confirmed as part of recruitment process, however, depending on experience, sessions based on £8500 per session.
Devon Training Hub are looking to appoint 2 GP Fellows based in the South to demonstrate personal learning and undertake project work on reducing health inequalities at PCN level across Devon. These posts are available to GPs at any stage in their career and we hope they will start at the beginning of September. The successful candidates will participate in a monthly peer learning group with other Health Inequalities Fellows across Devon, looking into reducing health inequalities across the county.

Wonford Green Surgery is a six Doctor PMS teaching practice caring for 6400 patients with a varied demographic. Our doctors are supported by a dedicated team consisting of two practice nurses, an HCA and Phlebotomist, Office Manager, and seven Receptionists. We are heavily involved with Exeter Medical School and have a teaching ethos; we currently have an ST3 registrar. Due to the combined efforts of our excellent clinical and admin teams we achieve high QOF targets and were rated ‘Good’ by CQC in our last inspection.

 

We work in alliance with other practices in the area and play an active part in the successful Exeter City Primary Care Network (PCN); several ideas to build effective transformation processes and best practices are currently being explored to fully exploit and maximise the opportunities provided by the GP contract and NHS Long Term Plan.

 

The wellbeing of our staff is of the utmost importance; the workflows and systems that we have in place have been specifically designed to ensure pressure and demand are effectively managed and equally shared across all staff groups. Team meetings are held regularly, and our practice environment has been designed to encourage contact and support within and across all staff groups.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has the commitment and passion to drive efficiencies and quality of care for our patients and the wellbeing of our staff. A working knowledge of business, NHS finance and Human Resources are essential. The successful candidate will be comfortable with transformational processes, with the agility and proactiveness to lead us through the changes outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan and GP Contract. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential; a background in healthcare is desirable.
